The police are looking into a case of a missing child and discovered that the 8-year-old had passed away.
WKOW said The Rock County Sheriff’s Office found the child inside a residence after being contacted just after 6 p.m. It’s unclear if it’s the same residence mentioned in the report of the missing child.
Law enforcement detained a person deemed potentially involved, but no further details were disclosed, except that there’s no danger to the public.
Authorities have not revealed the cause of the child’s death or the potential connection of the ‘person of interest’ to the child’s passing, or if there was indeed a missing person.
