A couple in Georgia was taken into custody earlier this month for mistreating children after their 2-month-old son was discovered unresponsive in their residence.
The boy was brought to Martin Army Community Hospital by the parents, 26-year-old Scott Sartin and 24-year-old Jada Sartin, and he and his twin sister were subsequently admitted to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, according to WRBL
The couple’s third child, a 2-year-old boy, was assessed and then released.
The Sartins were apprehended on various family violence charges — two counts of severe bodily harm, two counts of serious maltreatment of children, and two counts of moderate maltreatment of children.
Law enforcement emphasized the seriousness of the children’s injuries in the arrest warrants, although the nature of the injuries was not disclosed.
