Newly made jail phone conversations are giving more information about the thoughts and actions of Ruby Franke, a YouTuber from '8 Passengers'. ABC4 states.

The 42-year-old woman from Utah was given a prison sentence in February for at least four years due to mistreating children, with a possibility of serving up to 30 years.

Franke and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt were arrested in August after one of Hildebrandt’s neighbors contacted the police to report a child who had asked them for food and water, with duct tape on their wrists and ankles.

Officers confirmed that the child was Franke's and had escaped from Hildebrandt’s home. Another one of Franke’s children was found by the police in a severely thin condition.

This week, prosecutors shared a large number of records connected to the case, such as copies of Franke’s diary and calls she made from jail between August and December.

In one talk in August, Franke asked her husband if people were paying attention to her case. “Are we in the news?” Franke asked, according to the TV station.

Her husband, Kevin, replied: “It sounds like at least you’re in the news. I don’t know about me.”

“This is a witch hunt!” Franke said. “’The devil has been after me for years.”

“Adults have a really hard time understanding that children can be full of evil, and what that takes to fight it,” Franke can be heard telling Kevin that same day, according to the audio obtained by Law&Crime.

Franke also commented on Hildebrandt. In September, Franke claimed she and Hildebrandt were “misunderstood.” By December, Franke referred to Hildebrandt as “mentally ill.”

Many of the calls have religious overtones. In one instance, in September, she said that God’s spirit told her that her children would be removed.

“God told me I’m done,” Franke said in the call. “Satan has taken everything away from me that I love. And I’m a good woman. I don’t do naughty things.”
