According to NJ.com, this happened just a few weeks before Christian Samay’s planned graduation.Samay was declared dead at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house on University Avenue in Lewisburg.

“I am deeply saddened to announce the death of a Bucknell student on campus today. We grieve together for the loss of Christian Samay ’24. This is an indescribable loss for the Bucknell community, and our thoughts are with Christian’s family and friends,” college president John C. Bravman said in a statement.

Bravman clarified that Samay’s death was not connected to a report of an active shooter over the weekend, which was later confirmed to be a hoax originating from Virginia.

“I call upon all Bucknellians to support each other In this difficult time, and to keep Christian’s family in your prayers.”

Channel 2 News states that Union County Coroner Dominick Adamo mentioned that an investigation is ongoing. No further details about his death are available at the moment.

Classes on Monday have been cancelled, and support will be provided for staff and students.

“Please be aware that the safety and protection of our students are our top priorities,” Bravman wrote.
