The Colorado dentist accused of killing his wife by poisoning her is again being accused of attempting to tamper with evidence while in prison.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 46-year-old James Craig is charged with first-degree murder for the death of his wife, 43-year-old Angela Craig, on March 18, 2023. Investigators allege that Angela died from consuming lethal levels of tetrahydrozoline, a decongestant commonly used in eyedrops, and cyanide.

James allegedly bought cyanide and arsenic a few days before Angela's death and had searched the internet for how to commit poisoning. At the time of the killing, he was also dealing with financial issues and having an extramarital affair.

Prosecutors later charged James in June 2023 with one count of solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence for allegedly trying to convince one of his daughters to help cover up the crime between March 18, 2023, and March 31, 2023, KUSA-TV reports.

Now, the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s office has filed an amended complaint charging James with another count of evidence tampering. Details in the court filing are limited, but the document accuses James of trying to persuade an unnamed individual to tamper with evidence between March 18, 2023, and June 15, 2023, according to the Denver Post.

Police arrested James and booked him into jail on March 19, 2023; he is being held on a $10 million cash-only bond.

James and Angela have six children and were married for more than 20 years. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Angela’s brother, Mark Pray, explained the toll that his sister’s murder has had on the family.

“The heinous actions of her killer have left a void in the lives of her children, our family, her countless friends, and the world, depriving us of Angie’s love and light,” Pray told the news outlet.

James has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and he is scheduled to go to trial in August.
