Three individuals have been apprehended for the fatal stabbing of a man who was brought to a Florida hospital ER.

Alvin Weeks Jr., 39, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder in the killing of Emory Crews Jr., 41. Joshua Ward, 34, and Dianne Chamberlin, 68, are accused of tampering with evidence, according to a press release.

The ex-wife of the alleged perpetrator expressed relief that the individual, whom she claimed had a history of domestic violence, was arrested, as reported by ABC/The CW Plus affiliate WCJB reported.

“I was blown away,” she said, as quoted by the station. “Now the truth comes out. Now people can see who this monster really is that I was married to.”

The incident occurred on Tuesday. The Bradford County Sheriff’s communications center received a call at 4:51 p.m. from HCA Florida Starke Emergency Room, deputies said in a press release.

Medical staff reported that an unidentified white male and white female delivered Crews to the hospital with a penetrating wound to his torso, officials stated. Efforts to save the victim were unsuccessful, and he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards.

The male and female who transported the victim to the ER fled in a brown vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

Upon announcing plans to review surveillance footage in the area to establish their identities and requesting the public’s assistance in providing information about the killing, authorities swiftly located the suspects.

Weeks was discovered in a barn on his family’s property in the northeastern Bradford County area at 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday, according to authorities.

The other two suspects were apprehended following a dramatic overnight raid on Tuesday at a residence in Lawtey, Florida, near Jacksonville. A SWAT team and police dogs surrounded the residence and located Ward and Chamberlin, officials recounted.

Deputies expeditiously ascertained, subsequent to interviewing both suspects, that they had participated in the destruction and disposal of evidence connected to the homicide, officials noted.

The suspects purportedly endeavored to clean the vehicle used to transport Crews to the hospital, according to WCJB.

The suspects were remanded without bail to the Bradford County Jail.
