A 10-year-old boy in Oklahoma woke up and discovered that his father had killed his parents and three brothers in a murder-suicide.
A police officer in Oklahoma City mentioned that the child dialed 911 around 9:30 a.m. and reported that “everyone inside the home appeared to be dead.”
“The husband and father of the home, Jonathan Candy, was involved in a conflict with his wife Lindsay” and shot her “multiple times,” Knight said.
He then systematically went through the home shooting the children, according to Knight.
The children were Dylan Candy, 18; Ethan Candy, 14; and Lucas Candy, 12, as stated by The Associated Press. Lindsay Candy, 39, and one of the children were found downstairs and the other two children were found upstairs, with at least one being shot to death in his bed, according to Knight.
“What occurred in that residence was nothing short of a massacre,” he said. “The children were hunted down and killed.”
“One child, the one who called 911, was left unharmed,” he said. “We don’t know why.”
Then, Jonathan Candy, 42, turned the gun on himself.
The surviving boy is now being looked after by relatives.
