During the trial of a New Jersey father who made his 6-year-old son run on a fast treadmill until he collapsed, a nurse from the emergency room revealed that she didn't stay in the room while medical staff tried to save the boy's life.
Christopher Gregor, 31, went in and out of the treatment room multiple times after bringing his son's lifeless body on April 2, 2021. When his son's heart stopped for the second time, Gregor walked out and never returned, according to the Asbury Park Press..
During the trial, a prosecutor asked nurse Lindsay Carnevale who stayed with Corey Micciolo.
She responded, “We did. We were the only ones with him.”
The boy was declared dead just after 5 p.m., and Gregor was seen leaving in his car at 5:20 p.m. through surveillance video presented to the court.
According to CrimeOnline,, two previous videos shown during Gregor’s murder trial showed the boy on the treadmill and Gregor bringing him into the Southern Ocean County Medical Center.
In the treadmill video, Gregor set the speed high and made Corey run for 12 minutes, picking him up and placing him back on when he fell. At one point, he seemed to bite his son's head as he put him back on the treadmill.
Corey's autopsy report stated that he died from “blunt force injuries with cardiac and liver contusions with acute inflammation and sepsis.” The coroner attributed his death to chronic abuse.
In further testimony, Sgt. Raymond Coles of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office mentioned that Gregor ignored phone calls from Corey’s mother after leaving the hospital, as well as calls from Stafford Township police. Instead, he started doing a series of internet searches, including “Can your phone be traced in airplane mode?” and “Can my car be tracked?,” Coles said.
The next day, he looked up information about whether internal bleeding can raise blood and how gastrointestinal bleeding happens. Later, he searched for “There was a murder determination from an autopsy – how long to file charges,” Coles testified.
Gregor also deleted over 3,400 text messages between him and Corey’s mother.
Gregor pleaded not guilty to murder and endangering the welfare of a child.
