Police in Laurens County, South Carolina, shared a picture of a man they believe is with the 11-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday evening.
Ruby Guevara was last seen at her home on Georgia Road in Gray Court at around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Deputies in Laurens County mentioned that she might have left her house and is believed to be with 21-year-old Rafael Garcia.
“I’m feeling destroyed,” her mother, Reina Guevara, told WYFF in Spanish.
“She came by Sunday around 5:30, 6, 6:30 in the afternoon from church. And she put – and then… the young men were sitting on the porch when I got here from church.”
Guevara added that Garcia knew her daughter because they used to attend the same church.
“He knows what he’s done and don’t need to see that because he is an adult and he is older than her, and she is a girl. He doesn’t need to see that.”
Ruby is described as a Hispanic female who stands 5 feet tall and weighs around 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green shirt and jeans.
People with information about their location are encouraged to get in touch with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office or call Crime Stoppers at 864-68-CRIME.
