A river worker reportedly contacted 911 on Friday to report that he had found the body of a man from Missouri who had disappeared in Tennessee two weeks earlier.

A man employed by Holcim, a company that produces building materials, informed a 911 operator that while checking the dock, he came across Riley Strain, 22, lying with his face down in the Cumberland River.

According to WKRN, Holcim unloads barges on the river and local businesses were advised to be on the lookout for the missing college student.

“My company works on the river. I have just found a dead body — I believe it to be Riley,” the employee said in the 911 call, according to WKRN.

WKRN reported that Strain’s body was discovered near river marker 184. The 911 caller also explained that only Strain’s back was visible  — so he “shifted a log off of the head to confirm it was a body.”

Strain, a University of Missouri student, disappeared on March 8 after being asked to leave Luke Bryan’s bar in Nashville. Strain was attending a fraternity conference there when he went missing. Bar staff reportedly escorted Strain off the premises, believing he had consumed an excessive amount of alcohol. The bar claimed they only served Strain one drink.

Strain was found deceased eight miles away from where he disappeared two weeks earlier. A preliminary autopsy indicates his death was accidental and foul play is not suspected.
