A sex offender from Michigan has been accused of attacking and raping two older sisters in Dearborn and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Allen Park.
Michael Shawn Holcomb served eight years in jail after admitting to committing second-degree criminal assault against a child in 2010. He was released on parole in April 2018 and finished parole two years later.
Holcomb was formally charged on Tuesday for the assault on the teenager on March 9. The teenager was at the home of one of Holcomb’s relatives who was aware of his history. A friend of the family told WXYZ a 7-year-old child witnessed the ongoing assault and helped the teen escape.
The friend mentioned, “They assisted each other in getting away. He attempted to confine them both in the house, and she is only 7 years old.”
The girls managed to escape and ran to a neighbor, who called 911.
Holcomb fled the scene before the police arrived. Two hours later, he reportedly entered the residence of two elderly sisters in Dearborn, where he raped, attacked, and tormented them. One of the women fled to a neighbor’s home and called 911.Once again, Holcomb fled the scene but was found at a nearby motel.
Last week, he was formally charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of torture, one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and two counts of assault with intent to cause severe bodily harm, but not murder, in relation to the attack on the two women.
In connection to the assault on the teenager, he is facing six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of illegal imprisonment, one count of assault with intent to inflict serious bodily harm by strangulation, and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Both jurisdictions ordered Holcomb to be held without bond.
