On Monday, officials in North Carolina stated that a woman who was shot and killed last month had died by suicide.

The Robeson County Medical Examiner, Dr. Richard Johnson, found that Mica Miller, aged 30, passed away as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Additionally, he dismissed speculation about the manner of her death, confirming that Miller was not shot in the back of the head, as reported by WPDE.

READ: Police will soon release the final report on the suspicious shooting death of the pastor's wife.

According to John-Paul Miller, Mica Miller's husband and pastor at Solid Rock Church, she took her own life with a gunshot to the head at Lumber River State Park in Lumberton on April 27. He also stated that his late wife had been dealing with mental health issues for several years, and as a result, Solid Rock Church relieved him of all ministerial duties.

Citing court records, the New York Post revealed that Mica Miller had initiated divorce proceedings in October 2023. The Robesonian reported that her family also indicated she had requested a no-contact order just days before her death. In response to the medical examiner's findings, Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins announced that his department would be sharing additional information about the case on Tuesday.

According to a Facebook post by the Robeson County police, Sheriff Burnis Wilkins has arranged to meet with Mica's family and will release more detailed information to support the medical examiner's conclusions tomorrow evening. They also urged the public to refrain from making assumptions and drawing conclusions until the full timeline of events is revealed.
