A teen in Florida, aged 18, was using a handgun and accidentally shot and killed another teenager recently, according to police.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office stated that 18-year-old Reginald Fields was shot while in a parked car on March 1. Despite being taken to a hospital, he did not survive.

Witnesses reported that the handgun discharged on its own, causing Fields's death. WTVT reported.

Jabarre Burney has been accused of manslaughter in this case, which is currently being investigated.

Burney was taken into custody on Friday.

A similar incident occurred a week after the first shooting, on the day Burney was arrested. In the backyard of a Manatee County home, a group of teens had gathered and a gun unexpectedly fired, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy, as per WWSB. according to WWSB. Police apprehended another 17-year-old, Carter Layne, and he is also facing manslaughter charges.
