A sailor who is currently serving has been accused of shooting three people, resulting in the death of one of them, outside a nightclub in Seattle last month.
23-year-old Victor Marshall was taken into custody at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton, Washington on Monday, as reported by the Seattle Times. the Seattle Times reported. He was charged on Thursday by prosecutors with one count of second degree murder and two counts of first degree assault, each with a firearm enhancement.
According to Senior Deputy Prosecutor Raymond Lee, the defendant shot two people who were involved in an argument, without a clear reason or explanation.
According to prosecutors, the two individuals who survived, a man and a woman aged 25, were arguing outside the OHM club around 2 a.m. on February 25. Stuart Roberts II, also 25, and a female friend attempted to defuse the situation when Marshall, who was seated on a car's trunk with his gun, started shooting.
Roberts sustained four gunshot wounds, according to charging documents. He was initially taken to Virginia Mason Medical Center and subsequently transferred to Harborview Medical Center, where he passed away. Officers who arrived at the hospital observed blood and a firearm in the vehicle that transported Roberts, but the documents did not specify the owner of that vehicle.
The documents indicate that Marshall's tattoos seem to match those of the perpetrator observed in surveillance footage. However, the police have not yet found the gun used to kill Roberts.
Marshall is currently being held on a $4 million bail and could face 41 to 53 years in prison if found guilty. His arraignment is set for Wednesday.
