An employee at a Georgia Walmart shot and killed a 19-year-old man and injured a 9-year-old girl on Friday night inside the store.

The suspect, 19-year-old Adrian Jelks, was identified by Fayetteville Police. They said he left the scene in a vehicle that was later found abandoned. WAGA reported..

According to the police, 19-year-old Antavius Holton was the intended target of the shooting and died from his injuries. They also stated that the young girl was hit by a stray bullet and is expected to survive.

Fayetteville Police Chief Scott Gray said, “We believe the young girl was an innocent bystander and was hit by a stray bullet fired by the suspect.”

Police identified Jelks as the suspect using surveillance video and information from his coworkers.

On Saturday, Sandra Romero Nunez, 19, was arrested on charges related to the murder and aggravated assault.

Jelks is still wanted for murder and aggravated assault. He is considered armed and dangerous, and the police asked anyone with information to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 770-461-4357.
