An 11-month-old New York baby girl, who was taken on Saturday night, was discovered on Sunday morning but was declared dead at a Schenectady hospital.
Halo Branton was snatched in southwest Schenectady at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. according to the Daily Gazette. Police said at the time they were concerned the little girl was in imminent danger.
An Amber Alert was issued on Sunday morning but was canceled when Halo was found near the General Electric Company campus.
Schenectady Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Macherone stated that police are gathering information, including security camera footage from the area of the abduction, and interviewing “multiple individuals” about the incident.
Authorities have not yet disclosed how the baby died.
